Accessibility Compliance You Can Prove

Public agencies use A11y Audit to meet ADA Title II and Section 508: crawl every page and document, run the automated checks, work through the manual review no tool can judge, and walk away with signed evidence that holds up. Private teams use the same platform to reach WCAG 2.2 Level AA.

For public agencies, the rule is already in force

The Department of Justice's ADA Title II rule sets WCAG 2.1 Level AA as the standard for state and local government websites and mobile apps. If your entity serves 50,000 people or more, that requirement took effect on April 24, 2026 — it applies to you today. Entities under 50,000 and special district governments have untilApril 26, 2027.

A11y Audit holds your content to WCAG 2.2 Level AA — a newer, stricter standard than the rule's floor — so meeting it keeps you ahead of the requirement rather than level with it. Your web pages, your PDFs, and your mobile apps are all in scope, and A11y Audit covers all three.

What you get

A platform, not a spot-check

Your team logs in and works the whole job in one place — discovery, scanning, manual review, remediation, and the evidence at the end.

Every Page and Document, Found for You

Point A11y Audit at a starting URL and it crawls your site, building a complete inventory of every page and PDF it finds — so nothing hides three subdirectories deep.

Automated Checks on Pages and PDFs

Web pages are scanned with a real headless browser, so what gets tested is the page your visitors actually get. PDFs are verified against PDF/UA — tags, reading order, structure, and language.

PDFs Remediated Automatically

Untagged PDFs are one of the biggest barriers on a government site — and the most tedious to fix. A11y Audit repairs what it can on its own and hands back the fixed file, with a before-and-after score.

Guided Manual Review

Meaningful alt text, logical reading order, keyboard traps: no engine can judge these. A11y Audit walks your team through them with keyboard and screen-reader checklists — and never records a pass on a check it couldn't test.

Prioritized Fixes and Tracking

Issues are ranked by severity, pages affected, and effort, with step-by-step remediation guidance for your CMS. Follow every issue from found to fixed, re-scan, and watch the delta.

Evidence That Holds Up

Export a VPAT or Section 508 ACR, or a sealed compliance packet whose contents are hash-chained so any tampering shows. Attestations are cryptographically signed and anyone can verify one without an account.

We tell you what we can't check

No scanner covers all of WCAG, and any tool that implies otherwise is selling you a green checkmark. A11y Audit evaluates 27 of the 55 Level A and AA success criteria in WCAG 2.2 — automatically, through the guided manual protocol, or both. The other 28 are flagged in your report as needing dedicated manual testing.

They are never quietly marked as passing. You can see the whole picture, criterion by criterion, on our WCAG coverage page — before you talk to us.

For public agencies

The public-facing side, handled

ADA Title II asks for more than a clean scan. A11y Audit covers the parts your residents and your legal team actually see.

Hosted Accessibility Statement

A public page describing your conformance status, known issues, and ADA coordinator contact — kept current from your real scan data instead of a document someone last touched in 2023.

Compliance Badge

An embeddable badge that shows your current accessibility status on your own site and refreshes hourly.

Grievance Intake

A public form for residents to report a barrier, with reference-number status lookup and tracking against the 60-day response window.

How it works

Your team drives it. A11y Audit runs what a machine can run, and guides you through what it can't.

Step 1: Point it at your site

Give A11y Audit a starting URL. It crawls from there and builds an inventory of every page and document, then scans them as it goes.

Step 2: See what the scan found

Results land mapped to the WCAG criterion they fail and ranked by priority, with the evidence and remediation steps attached to each one.

Step 3: Work the manual review

For the checks no engine can decide, A11y Audit hands your team a guided walkthrough — keyboard, screen reader, reading order — and records the verdict and evidence.

Step 4: Fix, re-scan, and prove it

Track each issue to done and re-scan to see exactly what moved. When you need to show your work, export a VPAT, an ACR, or a signed attestation.
